faber castell penFaber-Castell Pens are one of the world's leading manufacturers and sellers of high-quality products for writing, a famous name all over the world. The international group of companies was originally founded in 1761 by Kaspar Faber as a pencil manufacturer in a small work shop in Stein near Nuremberg. It is thus one of world's oldest industrial companies. In 1840 Lothar von Faber lends his name to the pencils, sets standards for lengths, diameters and grades of lead and transforms the pencils into a high quality product and the first branded writing instrument in the world. In 1898 Baroness Ottilie von Faber marries Count Alexander zu Castell Rudenhausen. The company then takes on the name of Faber-Castell. It is now headed by Count Anton Wolfgang von Faber-Castell, the 8th generation of his family to do so. Faber-Castell Design Pens and Pencils take new and unmistakable paths in matters of design, materials, and colours. In many ways they also show the roots of writing - the Faber-Castell history. It has been responsible for many decisive developments. In that respect, nothing has changed to this day.
The Logo The Faber Castell Pen brand logo is well recognised all over the world. The two jousting knights on a dark green back ground.
In 1905 Faber Castell brought out a new range of top-quality pencils, which they called Castell. Count Alexander chose his regimental colour, green for the paint coating. Over the years, the Castell pencils became a classic. Count Alexander also commissioned a painting of two "knights of the pencil", an advertising motif that decorated the boxes and cases for decades.
The Pen Zone is committed to bringing the best brands to our customers and stock a large range of Faber Castell Pens and Pencils.
